Mayor Luttrell Hosts Leadership Summit on JUNE 23RD 

Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell’s Young Professional Council (MYPC) will host a leadership summit this Saturday to highlight the successes of Memphis area community initiatives developed and led by young professionals. The summit, We Don’t Bluff, We Lead!, is free and will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Memphis Bioworks Foundation, 20 South Dudley Street, at 10 a.m. 

“This will be a unique opportunity for young professionals to meet and share ideas with influential leaders in our community,” said Shelby County Mayor Mark H. Luttrell, Jr. “The presentations will encourage young people to take note of their talents and invest them here locally.” 

Mayor Luttrell created the young professional’s council soon after taking office in 2010 to encourage young people to be part of the local business community and to get involved in efforts that will improve the quality of life throughout Shelby County. 

Topics of the summit:

● Education to Workforce Pipeline 

● Civic Leadership: Preparation and Service 

● Quality of Life for Young Professionals in Shelby County

Speakers include:

● Ernest Strickland, Greater Memphis Chamber 

● Eric Robertson, Community Lyft 

● Mauricio Calvo, Latino Memphis 

Think Tank Session Leaders Include:

● Dr. Robin Cole, Dean of Business & Technology Southwest TCC 

● David McKinney, Shelby County Office of Planning & Development 

● Hannah Evon, Memphis Brand Initiative
