To perform best practices psycholegal evaluations to assist the Court in making decisions regarding disposition in the cases of youth for whom the state has entered a notice of intent to seek transfer to adult Criminal Court

Goals & Objectives

Competently perform Court ordered psycholegal evaluations that provide professional options about:

1)     whether the youth meets criteria for judicial commitment to a facility for the mentally ill or developmentally disabled

2)     the youth’s risk to the community, emotional and cognitive maturity, and treatment amenability

3)     recommendations to reduce the youth’s risk for violence and address any mental health needs

Provide quality clinical training regarding psycholegal evaluations to interns from the University of Tennessee Professional Psychology Internship Consortium
