2020 State of the County

“We Can Do More”

On February 21, 2020, hundreds of Shelby County residents came together for the 2020 State of the County address. The event featured the New Ballet Ensemble, Made in Memphis Entertainment artist Porcelan, and Shelby County Schools’ Southwind High School Gospel Choir. Additionally, Shelby County Commissioners and Mayor Lee Harris honored retired Alcy Elementary School principal Ms. Christine Johnson and Houston Middle School teacher Ms. Karla Willingham Templeton with the Mayor’s Shining Star Award. Finally, Mayor Harris presented some of the work that the Administration has done in collaboration with various stakeholders over the last year and his goals for the future.
