Blight Reduction:  Division of Public Works

Support Services:  Lawns Mowed

The Shelby County Division of Public Works is expected to mow over 2,000 lawns this fiscal year to mitigate blight in the community.  The Division of Public Works is not only responsible for issues concerning environmental and vegetation management control within the unincorporated areas of Shelby County but heavily impact the LOSB and M/WBE spend by contracting with local businesses to complete this work. In order to minimize the potential for properties or vacant lots to become a menace to public health, safety and welfare. or otherwise become a public nuisance, Shelby County mows lawns that have been cited for tall grass or weed cutting.
