Programs / Groups
The department provides community service workers for various nonprofit and government agencies as a means of addressing various court-related issues and servicing the community. Pretrial Services also offers groups / classes in various categories such as:

 
  • Anger management...............................   8 - 16 weeks     
  • Batterers intervention Program.............   24 - 27 weeks
  • Bringing Peace to Relationships...........   24 weeks
  • Criminal Thinking Errors........................  16 - 24 weeks 
  • Men Stopping Violence..........................  8 - 16 weeks
  • Moral Reconation Therapy.....................  12 weeks 
  • Theft Cessation (only)............................  2 weeks
  • Substance Use.......................................  8 -16 weeks
In addition to designated groups, Pretrial Services also offers one on one counseling / coaching to many clients based on assessed needs.  If clients require additional services that are not offered by this agency, efforts will be made to link them to the appropriate agency in the community that will be able to assist them.

*For attorneys or probation officers seeking assistance with court-appointed DVAC or group counseling sessions for their clients, call Robin Gunn, Pretrial Services Quality Services Supervisor, at 901-222-4000 or email PTS_Programs@shelbycountytn.gov for further assistance. Eligible classes will be sponsored by Pretrial Services but paperwork needs to be completed first.”
