Inclement Weather Policy:
If Memphis - Shelby County Schools (MSCS) closes school and there are no in person classes due to inclement weather or as the result of inclement weather, Juvenile Court of Memphis and Shelby County will be closed as well. If you have a court date with Juvenile Court that is missed due to this inclement weather policy, you will be notified via text or email (whichever method of communication you normally receive from the courts for court information) regarding your new court date.

Juvenile justice initiatives overseen by Shelby County Juvenile Court include:
- Assessment screening for juveniles detained for serious offenses
- Evaluation referrals for youth affected by mental health issues and substance abuse
Juvenile Court has eight courtrooms where juvenile and child support cases are heard.

As part of the Court's agreement with The United States Department of Justice the Court, in conjunction with the Shelby County IT Department, has created a "Data Dashboard." The dashboard is designed to provide information about the Court's progress with the agreement with the DOJ.
