The Air Quality Improvement Branch works closely with the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). This branch is currently carrying forward a number of projects to help improve air quality here in our community:

• Clean air education and outreach program
• Memphis Area Rideshare Program
• Partnership with Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) to improve ozone
• Promotion for hybrid vehicles
• Retrofit of Shelby County school buses
• Riverview-Kansas Environmental Enhancement Project
• Train switchyard idle reduction technology
