Functions of Proper Record Management
Proper record management not only conveys organizational and managerial benefits, it is also a vital task necessary for fulfilling important legal requirements and duties. Minute clerks have an important responsibility to preserve Chancery records. Proper record management will ensure our records are preserved and can be found when needed.

Accessing Case Records
The Minute Room clerks pull archived (closed) cases twice daily, at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, for review. Attested and archived cases are housed in the Minute Room. Active cases may be pulled at any time between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.

Archived cases should be requested before arrival. You may contact the Chancery Court Minute Room at (901) 222-3921 to make arrangements. Cases will be held for five days. Files are not available for checkout, they must be viewed on site; however, copies can be purchased for the following:
  • Certified copies: $5 plus $0.50 for each page
  • Regular copy: $0.50 per page
