Pre-Trial Services is a comprehensive criminal justice agency offering programs that are alternatives to incarceration. Its operations range from bond settings immediately following the arrest process to providing supervision of offenders convicted and placed on county probation. 

Pre-Trial Services also assists with the presentation of information that allows a bond to be set on defendants from the Shelby County jail and helps provide supervision for defendants released on their own recognizance.

Additionally, the department provides community service workers for various nonprofit and government agencies as a means of addressing various court-related issues and servicing the community. Pre-Trial Services also offers groups / classes in various categories such as:
