The Shelby County Government Citizen's University

"The eleven-week course is held on Tuesday evenings. We're hoping to give everyday citizens the opportunity to have a behind the scenes look at how county government works and how their tax dollars are spent", says Mayor Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.

  • Health Department
  • Planning and Development
  • Public Works
  • Public Affairs
  • County Attorney
  • Public Defender
  • Office of Preparedness
  • Elected Officials (Trustee, Sheriff, County Clerk, Assessor)
  • County Commission

Class Information:

The evening classes begin at 6:00 and end at 8:00. Students must be 18 years-old and live or work in Shelby County. There is no charge to attend the classes.
