Reduce the Incident of Lead Poisoning
Increase Lead Poisoning Prevention Awareness
- The program provides medical case management of all children identified with elevated blood lead levels.
- MCLPPP provides Shelby County day care centers with blood screening for lead and educational lead poisoning prevention presentations.
Increase the Number of Lead-Safe Housing Units
- The Lead Poisoning Preventative Exposure Program is targeted at educating high-risk communities to prevent lead exposures from occurring.
- MCLPPP provides environmental dust wipe clearance testing in properties that have received lead hazard reduction treatments using Housing and Urban Development grant funding.
