The Trails of Shelby Farms

 

 

Unpaved Trails

 

Tour de Wolf is a five-mile loop traveling through the northeast portion of the park.  Most people enter the trail on the north end to the right of Silo Road.  The trail ends on the north side of Patriot Lake.  This is an excellent trail for hiking,
bikers on the Tour de Wolf
running and biking.

 

Wolf River Trails are located on the south side of Walnut Grove Road and wind through the Lucius Burch State Natural Area paralleling the Wolf River.  Access to these trails is either from the Walnut Grove Bridge or the Germantown trailhead.  These trails are identified as:



Cross Country Trails

Three-Mile Course: Used primarily by high school and college teams for practice. It is also used for local and regional competitions.


10K Course:


Used mainly for competitions. It starts in the field located between the Mullins Station entrance and exit roads. A large white billboard marks the State/Finish point. White directional signs guide runners throughout the course.



Paved Trails

Patriot Lake Trail is 12 feet wide and 1.67 miles long.  This multi-purpose trail, winding around Patriot Lake, is enjoyed by walkers, joggers, cyclists and inline skaters.

Chickasaw Trail is a 3.3-mile long path traveling through the northern portion of the park.  It meanders through pine and hardwood forest areas and past three lakes.  Walkers, Joggers, bikes and inline skaters are allowed on the Chickasaw Trail.


South Trail is a multi-use track running parallel to Walnut Grove Road on the south side from the soccer fields to the Germantown trailhead.  It is 4.1 miles in length.
