The air quality in Memphis and Shelby County is improving. And whether you are aware of it or not our local air quality affects how you live and breathe. Like the weather, it can change from day to day, or even hour to hour. The most current information allows you to make decisions for you and your family based on the air quality forecast.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with State and local air quality agencies, has a new program called EnviroFlash. EnviroFlash is Free and comes to you, notifying you about our local air quality- you don't have to go searching for it or wait for the local news broadcast.
EnviroFlash provides current air quality information such as forecasts and action day notifications via email or pager notification. The email includes the same local, air quality forecast information which is coordinated through the news media, like television and radio.
This free service to receive up-to-date air quality information is especially helpful for people with sensitivities, such as the young, people with asthma, and the elderly.
