Memphis, TN. - The Memphis and Shelby County Health Department is teaming up with the Memphis Animal Shelter and the Shelby County Veterinary Medical Association to hold the Annual Rabies Vaccination Clinics at 10 locations around Memphis and Shelby County on Saturday, April 21st and Saturday, April 28th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. During last year's clinics, nearly 2,000 dogs and cats were vaccinated.
Here are the locations of the Saturday Rabies Clinics to be held April 21st and April 28th:
- Armour Center at 79 Flicker (Avery)
- Fire Station #23 at 3468 Jackson Ave.
- Fire Station #43 at 1253 E. Holmes Rd.
- Fire Station #25 at 4735 Willow Rd.
- Fire Station #24 at 4472 Powell
- Fire Station # 48 at 4985 Raleigh-LaGrange
- Fire Station #49 at 4351 New Allen Rd.
- County Fire Station #68 at 2348 Garnett
- Bartlett Fire Station #1 at 2939 Alturia, Bartlett
- Germantown Animal Shelter at 7700 Southern Ave., Germantown
State and local ordinances require that all dogs and cats be vaccinated for rabies every year. The shots help protect your pet and your family from rabies, a deadly viral disease.
At the Saturday clinics, rabies vaccinations are $8.00 for both dogs and cats. County law also requires that all dogs be licensed, and some municipalities require licenses for cats. License tags will be available for an additional cost, depending on area of residence. NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE IN CASH.
