Deidre Carter Malone is the President and CEO of The Carter Malone Group, LLC, a public relations and marketing firm in Memphis, Tennessee.  Before opening the agency in 2003, Malone served as Vice President of Marketing Development for ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  ALSAC is the fundraising arm of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the third largest healthcare charity in the United States.

For 10 years, Malone was the Director of Public Relations for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital where she helped strengthen their media relations and marketing strategies through more aggressive communications tactics for the organization.  

Malone also plays an active role in the Memphis community. She was elected to the Shelby County Commission in 2002 where she has served as chair of the budget, community services and housing and economic development committees and vice chair of the education committee. In September 2008, Malone made history becoming the first African-American chairwoman of the Shelby County Commission. She also serves on the board of directors for the Memphis Housing Authority, Levitt Shell, Circles of Success Learning Academy, Philanthropic Black Women of Memphis and Bethlehem Baptist Church. She is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Memphis and in 2001, served as Leadership Memphis Alumni Association president.

A 1983 graduate of Jackson State University, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communications and a minor in marketing and has hours towards a Masters of Business Administration Degree.

Deidre and her husband, Dr. Patrick Malone, have two sons, Patrick II and Brian.
