 Duties of the Office of Trustee

 

Office of the Trustee

The duties of the Trustee are vested in and exercised by the Shelby County Trustee. The general duties of this office include (1) collection of property
 
taxes, (2) collection and disbursement of County funds, (3) management of the County's cash flow, and (4) investment of idle County funds.  Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 67-5-1801 to 1809, 5-8-201 to 210, 5-8-101 to 108, and 5-8-301.  Other statutory duties of the Trustee can be found at Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-11-104 and additional duties may be given to this office by the Shelby County Charter or by ordinance of the Shelby County Board of Commissioners.  The Trustee's website can be accessed at www.shelbycountytrustee.com.
