Commissioner Wyatt Bunker was elected to the Shelby County Board of Commissioners in the August 2006 general election to represent District 4.

Mr. Bunker is a graduate of Kirby High School and the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.  He served as a police officer with the Collierville Police Department, and is currently the Chief Manager of Advanced Investigation Services, LLC. 

Commissioner Bunker has emerged in local politics as a conservative leader that brings energy and creative ideas to the commission.  First elected to the Shelby County School Board in 2000 and re-elected in 2004, Mr. Bunker resigned his position on the school board when he took office as a County Commissioner where he is serving as the Chairman of the Education Committee. 

In 2004 he was one of nine statewide recipients of the National School Boards Association's Outstanding Service Award.  That same year he also became a Level V Master School Board Member, the highest certification attainable.  Mr. Bunker has been designated a Lifetime Member of the Shelby County PTA and has served as a member on the board of directors for Teen Challenge of Memphis. 

Mr. Bunker is married to Meredith and they have two children.  They are members of Bellevue Baptist church.
