County & City Joint Press Conference
Held Today To Give Public Full Assessment On Storm Damage

1:30 PM at the Memphis EMA office

Memphis, TN. -  A full assessment on the storm damage that has occurred in Memphis and throughout Shelby County will be given to the media/public this afternoon at 1:30 PM at the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) located on Avery & Flicker.

Mayor Wharton, Mayor Herenton, Sheriff Luttrell, Bob Nations, Office of Emergency Preparedness, Jerry Collins, MLGW, and representatives from the Memphis Police Department, Shelby County Fire Department and Memphis Fire Department will provide updates on the storm.  They will all be available for media interviews after the press conference.

"There has been concern and support for us from our elected officials.  I have been contacted by and spoken with Senator Alexander, Senator Corker and Governor Bredesen.  The Governor wanted to come to Memphis and Shelby County but I told him that I thought the smaller counties who also received storm damage needed his attention.  I also heard from Congresswoman Blackburn's office," said Mayor Wharton.

Please join us today at 1:30 PM for a full update.
