Mayor Wharton's Administration joined forces with Comcast this year
to air two new Shelby County Government talk shows designed specifically
for citizens. The first show ASK AC . . .YOUR VOICE
IN COUNTY GOVERNMENT aired last month. This
segment was very informative and highlighted The
MED.
The second
cable talk show, YOUR COUNTY CONNECTION debuts
tomorrow evening at 7:00 PM. Citizens will learn more about
the Shelby
County Books from Birth program and the Mayor's
Assistance Center. YOUR COUNTY CONNECTION,
a 30-minute taped talk show, hosted by County staffers, airs from
7:00-7:30 PM. During these talk shows, guests will appear
and at least two areas of interest to citizens about County government
will be highlighted. All shows will air on Comcast Channel
30 and begin at 7:00 PM.
ASK AC . . .YOUR VOICE IN COUNTY GOVERNMENT, a one-hour live call-in show, hosted by Wharton himself will air quarterly from 7:00-8:00 PM. During his show, Wharton will focus on a different aspect of County Government and then take questions from citizens on that particular topic and/or other topics of their interest.
In 2008, Shelby County citizens can tune into Comcast Channel 30 and/or 78 every first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM to become more familiar with how their government serves them.
