The acquisition, management and disposal of County owned real estate and rights-of-way is a job that keeps the County Land Bak very busy. When land is needed for a new library, a new park, the expansion of the Criminal Justice Complex or for any other capital improvement project, County Land Bank is sent out to negotiate the acquisition. With the increased development of Shelby County in recent years and need for improved roads to handle the increased traffic demands, County Land Bank is called upon to acquire the land and easements needed to build these roadway improvements.

Besides buying land for new projects, County Land Bank is continuously selling County owned properties that have either become surplus or were acquired through delinquent taxes. Over 150 properties are sold each year to reduce operating cost, maximize the tax base and to save tax dollars.

Should you have a question about concerning County roadway rights-of-way or easements, or need an easement or excess roadway right-of-way released, contact Al Flowers, Right-of-way Specialist, in the County Land Bank office at (901) 545-4326 or via email at al.flowers@shelbycountytn.gov. If you are interested in buying some land at reasonable prices, check out the our Surplus Propety listing or Delinquent Tax Parcels listing. They can be found by clicking on the links located near the top of this page. For general questions about the listed parcels contact Malcolm Travis, Real Estate Agent, in County Land Bank at (901) 545-4904 or via email at malcolm.travis@shelbycountytn.gov. Should you develop an interest in buying one of the parcels listed, have the "Tax Parcel ID No." ready and contact Mike Blackwell, Real Estate Specialist, in County Land Bank office at (901) 545-4900 or via email at mike.blackwell@shelbycountytn.gov. New property lists are posted at the beginning of each month.

You can also look up additional property information on the listed parcels at the Shelby County Assessor's web site. However, to do so you will need to convert our 14 digit "Tax Parcel ID No." to the Assessor's 11 digit "Parcel ID Number." This is usually done by simply eliminating excess "0's" (Ex. 01206200000180 = 01206200018). Click HERE for the Shelby County Assessor's web site.

For more information, contact Mike Blackwell, Real Estate Specialist, at (901) 545-4900 or via email at mike.blackwell@shelbycountytn.gov.
