The Memphis and Shelby County Health Department's TennCare Presumptive Eligibility Unit in collaboration with the Department of Human Services (DHS) has designed the first and only one-stop TennCare Presumptive enrollment system in the state of Tennessee. The purpose is to provide an expedited entry point for women to receive early prenatal care and/or cancer treatment or diagnostic medical services by way of enrollment into the TennCare Presumptive Medicaid program. It also provides an opportunity for the women to complete the required Medicaid application process at the same time, therefore, eliminating the need for a visit to their local DHS community office.
