The First Step to Safety

The First Step to Safety program has Crime Victims Center counselors in place at Citizens Dispute Office in the Criminal Justice Center at 201 Poplar Avenue who assist victims as they come in to file for warrants and Orders of Protection. The counselors in this program provide crisis intervention, safety planning, encouragement, empowerment, support counseling, court advocacy, and referrals to other agencies for needed services.
