Memphis and Shelby County Health Department Is Recruiting Nurses for Temporary Positions

Memphis, TN. - In an effort to assist the Memphis and Shelby County Health Department with the H1N1 pandemic, the Department is now recruiting registered nurses (RN) and licensed practical nurses (LPN) for temporary positions. These nurses will provide immunizations and related education to adults and children.

Successful applicants must meet the following minimum acceptable qualifications:

RN: Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program or graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree/Diploma School of Nursing plus two years of full-time generalized nursing experience and licensed as a RN in the State of Tennessee.


LPN: Graduation from a state accredited school of practical nursing and licensed as a licensed practical nurse in Tennessee.


Proof of licensure will be required at the time the application is submitted. Applications will be received at the Health Department's Human Resources Office located at 814 Jefferson Avenue in Room 131 on Tuesday, October 6 and Thursday, October 8 from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. on both days.
