Information For Health Professionals

This bureau provides ambulatory, primary and preventive health care services to a large population through innovative staffing and a network of strategically placed clinics. The clinics not only offer a full complement of services including prenatal counseling, school health programs, family planning, nutrition programs, immunizations and even some dental services.

Personal Health Services is also a research and educational arm of the Health Services Division. A study of Lyme disease associated with ticks was conducted with Memphis State University while a New Mothers study was undertaken with the University of Rochester. Programs offered in the community or through the public schools teach citizens how to be well and stay well, give information about family planning, infant care, nutrition, home and auto safety, and conduct outreach efforts for the homeless and those whose lifestyles put them at risk.
