WIC provides the following:
A food voucher to be redeemed at the grocery store
Breastfeeding support
Linkage to other healthcare, ie: well child exams, immunizations, lead screening

What do I need to bring when I sign up for WIC services?
The following information will be needed when applying for WIC:
Crib card from hospital or birth certificate (sixty days old or less)
Proof of identity and proof of person receiving the vouchers
Proof of income
Proof of residency
Shot record for infants and children

Is a medical exam required for WIC services.
WIC accepts physician referral information if not older than 60 days. A WIC exam can be done at the clinic. A WIC exam is:
Due date for pregnant women
Height and weight
Hematocrit or hemoglobin (if over nine months of age)
WIC participants must be present at each certification.
