A series of three storm systems in April 2011 caused significant damage in Shelby County. Due to the severity of the damages, Shelby County was identified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as eligible to participate in the National Disaster Resilience Competition (NDRC), a national competition for $1 billion for activities that advance resilience efforts. The draft application for Shelby County’s proposal to the NDRC has been posted for public comment through Friday, March 20. Click here for more information about the NDRC and to download the draft application.
